Oceanside

"I've been staring at the edge of the water
'Long as I can remember, never really knowing why
I wish I could be the perfect daughter
But I come back to the water, no matter how hard I try
Every turn I take, every trail I track
Every path I make, every road leads back
To the place I know, where I can not go, where I long to be"

I grew up near the edge of the water. Something about seeing an open expanse of water brings peace to my heart and soul. I was lucky enough in 2016 to see the ocean for the first time in my life. The same peace that covers my heart when I stand on the beach at the great lakes settled over my soul. T

I love the water so deeply I almost named my youngest child after the water. We were told our sweet boy was going to be a little girl and we had picked out the name Cordelia which means Jewel of the Sea. Needless to say he surprised us when he turned out to be very much a boy.

The water's edge holds a world of adventures. I love spending hours searching for shells, digging my sand in the toes, following gulls, swimming in the surf, and gazing out into the distance. I'm excited to share these adventures with my children. I can not wait to see the look of astonishment when they look out and cannot see the other side. Even along the great lakes there are islands and interruptions in the distance the ocean is just a vast horizon. I can't wait to watch them chase the crabs and observe the sea turtles. Maybe if we get lucky we will see some dolphins dance along the water's crest. There is a magical and fantastic world Oceanside.
