I workout every single day for at least 30 minutes. I have a routine that I love and stick with. Either I find a video on YouTube, I roll my workout dice, or I lift my weights and do a body weight workout. I have been known to hit the gym or go for a run outside. In the past vacations have side lined my routine. I have let whoever I was with dictate what I was going to do. This trip is different. My goals do not stop because I am on vacation.
I have packed a few basic essentials. However, if you have a membership at planet fitness they have locations all across the USA. A black card membership would allow you to use any of these numerous locations. A gym membership like this comes in handy if you travel frequently. If you are travelling to a particular city sometimes you can get a workout pass that gives you so many workouts at a variety of locations. Both of these ideas would be great for someone who uses the gym on a regular basis. My gym membership is through my work and unfortunately does not allow me access to any other gyms around the country. (But who can complain about a free gym membership, right?!?!)

Exploring the great outdoors while working out is a beautiful way to enjoy the area being visited. I am planning a couple of early morning runs to check out the local country side. Be sure the area you plan on running in is safe. Ask a local or a friend about how safe the running routes are. Stay aware and map the run you are planning on taking. Make sure someone knows where you will be and when you plan on returning.
Early morning yoga is another great way to enjoy the outdoors anywhere. I have packed my yoga mat. It takes up less than 2 ft in my vehicle. In our town three days per week there are free yoga classes in a local park. Call the local tourist bureau or YMCA and find out what might be happening while you are visiting. A vacation is the perfect excuse to try something new!

If it comes down to it I can turn on a 30 minute HIIT workout or a body weight workout and get a quick sweat session in no matter where I am.
