Five to Thrive Reboot

Happy Day after the fourth of July! Having a child with sensory issues and being a person who has them as well I'm not a big fan of explosions but I certainly can appreciate the beauty of fireworks festivities. With a full heart I celebrate our countries freedom from tyranny and pray we are able to continue living free.

However, this blog is not about politics or the fourth of July. I joined a group recently to do a restart for the year! We are doing the last 90 days in July which will be great. As a refresher the last 90 days is something Dave and Rachel Hollis have created. It focuses on building in time to chase your dreams, eating well, moving your body, hydrating, and making sure to remember what you are grateful for.
Since one of my life goals is to be a published author like with anything else I need to practice.Writing on here also goes well with my goal to help others and myself reach their best lives. Welcome to the conversation. I hope you find this helpful.

Number 1: "Get up and hour early."

My work schedule allows me the luxury and challenge of being off for two months during the summer. This mean my sleep and life schedules get all out of whack. I have not had a consistent wake up time at all. I am going to make it a goal to get back to my 5am wake ups. I'm starting by waking up by 8am every day for the next two days then going earlier every 2 days until I get back to 5am.

Number 2: "Workout for at least 30 minutes."

Of all the challenges this will be the most difficult. I do not like being hot. Right now in Lower Michigan where I live the weather is above 80 degrees every single day and I am dying. I am done making excuses though and even if my workout only consists of a 30 minute walk then I'm making it happen. I have a couple of good friends who kind of discourage my exercise but hopefully between this and my accountability group I am able to over come that.

Number 3: "Drink half of my body weight in ounces of water."

That's about 150 ounces per day. There are no excuses here I just have to do it.

Number 4: "Give up one food you know you should not be eating."

I'm doing this one a little bit differently. I am giving up eating after 7pm. I eat pretty well all day long. In fact my eating is just fine until 7pm. That is when I give into my cravings and everything goes haywire. If I stop eating after 7pm I think everything else will fall into place.

Number 5: "Write down 10 things you are grateful for every single day."

Here is the reason for my renewed interest in blogging. I am going to list out what I am thankful for right here every single day starting with today. I'm actually going to do the whole "Start Today" journal digitally.

Here it goes:

10 Things I am Grateful for:

1) I am grateful for the ability to change.
2) I am grateful for my body and everything it has endured and overcome.
3) I am grateful for my children.
4) I am grateful for my home.
5) I am grateful for fans.
6) I am grateful for rainstorms.
7) I am grateful for sunshine.
8) I am grateful for my great big  yard.
9) I am grateful for food to prepare for my family.
10) I am grateful for the career I have.

3 Things I have Accomplished:

1) I have completed my Associates Degree with a 3.97 GPA.
2) I have ran a 5k in under 45 minutes.
3) I have purchased my dream home.

Goals I will Achieve: (Stated as if I have already done so)

I have a great morning and night time routine.

That is all for today folks! I hope you have a wonderful 5th of July and I look  forward to hearing from all of you.

What is something you are grateful for? Please leave it in the comments below.
